Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Award

The Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program, sponsored by Deloitte and the Thrive Foundation for Youth, honors ethical student-athletes who have a positive impact on three levels: Personal Mastery, Leadership, and Honoring the game. Nominees will be assessed on the basis of how closely they exemplify the Triple-Impact Competitor Principles. Two boys and two girls in each region (outlined below) will receive a $1000 TIC Scholarship. Letters About Literature

Letters About Literature is a national reading/writing contest sponsored by the Center for the Book in the US Library of Congress in partnership with Target Stores. The contest is open to US students in grades 4-12. Entries consist of a personal letter to an author, living or dead, from any genre, explaining how the author’s work changed the student’s way of thinking about the world or themselves. There are three competition levels: grades 4-6 (100-250 words), grades 7-8 (250-500 words), and grades 9-12 (500-750 words). Two winners are selected from each level and awarded a $500 gift card from Target. Holocaust Remembrance Project

The Holocaust Remembrance Project is a national essay contest for high school students and is designed to encourage and promote the study of the Holocaust. Participation in this project encourages students to think responsibly, be aware of world conditions that undermine human dignity, and make decisions that promote the respect and value inherent in every person. The project serves as a living memorial to the millions of innocent victims of the Holocaust. The Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation recognizes the moral imperative of teaching young people about this watershed event and the central importance of passing on to future generations a profound understanding of the consequences of the Holocaust and a sense of responsibility to the human community. First Place winners participate in an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and other historic sites. In addition, scholarships of up to $10,000 will be awarded to the first-place winners.
